Overview

This case study delves into the swift installation of our 14R Bundle in a container city accommodating 1000 people, in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023. This earthquake inflicted severe damage on the region's infrastructure, resulting in a critical water shortage and posing a significant risk to the affected population. In response to this urgent need, Deploy collaborated with two highly-trained volunteers to expedite the tank installation process. Remarkably, the entire installation was successfully completed within a single day, with the tanks ready for use the following day. In this case, our 14R Bundle proves its effectiveness in emergency scenarios, demonstrating its capability to rapidly provide essential water services during times of disaster.

Application

In this case, the 14R Bundle played a vital role during the challenging post-disaster period by supplying both potable and non-potable water. With the provision of potable water, Deploy's 14R Bundle was able to connect various types of water filters. In this specific instance, Lifestraw donated Lifestraw Max to Deploy, enabling the provision of safe drinking water to the residents. The combined efforts of these technologies ensured access to clean drinking water, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases, and promoting the well-being of the community in the Container City.

Installation Challenges

1. The surface was filled with gravel. A thorough inspection was carried out to make sure the Insta Slab and the water tank wouldn't be damaged.

2. Water hardness was tested with a mobile handheld tester.

3. This tank was installed by 2 Deploy volunteers.
